The Ajira training program is a Kenyan government initiative driven by the Ministry of information communication and Digital Economy to empower over 1 million young people. It is designed to bridge the gap between youth jobs by providing free training, mentorship, and access to information through the youth empowerment center.
YMCA NTI held the Ajira digital literacy programme on 22nd February 2026 to maximize the students' skills and empowerment opportunities. The MOU between YMCA NTI and Ajira Digital Kenya is based on running digital literacy every term for all new students.
The classes were held for 2days, each training session holding 4hours covering areas including but not limited to digital marketing, content creation, digital advertising, and responsible and profitable utilization of social media.
The training was attended by more than 200 students participating in the 2-day training and was awarded a certificate of proficiency by Ajira Digital Kenya.
